Russell Brand not inviting dad for his wedding

English comedian Russell Brand, who will be marrying girlfriend Katy Perry sometime this year, has omitted his father from the guest list of the wedding. Brand has invited his mom, Barbara, who is very close to him but left out his father Ronald Henry Brand, with whom he has had a strained relationship for a long time.

Brand"s parents separated when he was just six months old and he was raised by his mother single handedly. His father married twice after the divorce and Brand, in an interview, stated that he had a strange relationship with his father, whom he saw sporadically.

Ronald Brand, who is believed to be delighted by his son"s wedding, rubbished the news of him being left out saying that no one has been invited since it's going to be a very small wedding. Reports say that Brand"s father has been very happy that he's found the woman and wants to settle down.

Brand has been dating American singer and songwriter Katy Perry since September 2009. Brand proposed to her in India last December and they subsequently announced their engagement in January 2010. The couple is flying guests to a secret location, believed to be in India to watch them exchange vows. The week-long wedding celebrations will be attended by both of Perry's parents.
