The majority of the Super 8's audience were people above the age of 25, accounting to 71% of the total audience. This may be due to the fact that the movie is set in the year 1979. The movie received a rating of B+ as compared to Cloverfield, which got a C from CinemaScore moviegoers.

X-Men: First Class remains in the second place after dropping 55% ,collecting $25 million. This is the least successful of the X-men series so far and has only grossed $98.9 million.
