Actor Joel Courtney, who played Joseph a.k.a. Joe Lamb in the movie Super 8, has got big breakthrough from JJ Abrams' sci-fi flick. After its big opening, the budding Hollywood star has been getting several offers. He is reportedly in negotiations for two forthcoming movies Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn and The Healer.
The movie Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn is an adaptation of a classic novel written by Mark Twain and it will be directed by Jo Kastner. Sources claim if everything goes well, the 15-year-old Joel Courtney will tackle the role of Tom Sawyer in the film, which will be shot in Bulgaria from August.
Meanwhile, Joel Courtney is also said to be in talks to play the role of one of the two kids in the movie The Healer, which is written and directed by Giorgio Serafini. The film is produced by Susan Johnson and Giuseppe Pedersoli and its shooting will begin in September in North Carolina.
However, the film The Healer will tell a story of an ailing father who takes his two teenage kids into the woods to renew the bond they shared before a divorce. Later, the trio are swept into a supernatural adventure.
