Ramesh Aravind’s recent comedy movies like Crazy Kutumba, Krishna Nee Lateagi Baaro and Preethi Inda Ramesh did not work out well at the Box office. Now, his latest movie Hendthira Darbar is yet another comedy, but it suffers from age old predictable storyline and dragging narration.
Director V Shekhar had made the Tamil film Varavu Ettana Selavu Paththana 14 years ago. Now he has entered Kannada with the remake of the same old story. It is a family drama that is sugar coated with humour. Along with the comedy, it also offers an important message to middle-class families, which has been told many times earlier.
The highlights of Hendthira Darbar are Ramesh and Meena’s performance and Rangayana Raghu and Sadhu Kokila’s comedy. But the movie has lots of weaknesses. It lacks good technical values. It has slow and dragging narration, not fresh and predictable storyline, music and camera work are average.
