Vijay
has
a
huge
fan
following
in
Bangalore.
It
was
proved
once
again
with
his
latest
movie
Thalaivaa
getting
massive
response
from
audience
in
the
Garden
City.
The
movie
was
released
in
Tamil

on
Tuesday
(August
20),
but
it
hit
the
screens
worldwide
on
August
9.
His
star
power
has
worked
big
time
in
Bangalore.
As
the
film
was
not
released
in
Tamil
Nadu,
fans
of
Vijay
were
forced
to
come
to
the
city
to
watch
the
flick.
As
a
result,
the
movie
has
registered
a
stunning
figure
at
Karnataka
Box
Office.
In
Karnataka,
Thalaivaa
has
earned
Rs
5.7
crores
(both
Tamil
and
Telugu
versions)
at
Box
Office
in
the
first
week.
The
distributor's
share
is
Rs
2.7
crores,
says
a
source.
In
Bangalore,
the
Tamil
movie
had
done
great
business
and
it
is
expected
to
have
collected
more
than
Rs
1.5
crore.
In
the
following
weekend,
the
occupancy
for
the
recently-released
Thalaivaa
was
close
to
80%
in
most
of
the
multiplexes.
And
the
single
screens
ran
into
packed
house
in
the
second
weekend.
Multiplexes
such
as
Cinemax,
Gopalan
and
PVR
witnessed

BO
As
Thalaivaa
was
not

the

business
in
the

People
in
the

regions
visited
Karnataka
to
watch
the
flick.
Mixed
Reviews
Thalaivaa
has
opened
up
to
mixed
reviews
from

it
has
not
affected
the
collections
in
the
first
weekend.
Vishwaroopam
Thalaivaa
has
got
the
second
best
opening
at
Bangalore
Box
office
after
Kamal
Hassan's
Vishwaroopam
in
2013.
But
the
latest
movie
could
not
make
the
impact
like
Vijay's
earlier
movies
Thuppakki
and
Nanban
here.
Thalaivaa
It
has
to
be
noted
that
Thalaivaa
could
not
get
maximum
screens
in
Bangalore
because
of
other
language
biggies.
Competition
Thalaivaa
faced
tough
competition
from
Hindi
movie
Chennai
Express
and
Kannada
movies
Tony
and
Silk
Sakkath
Hot.
