Ban Becomes Boon For Bangalore BO
As Thalaivaa was not released in Tamil Nadu, the movie managed to do good business in the Bangalore Box Office. People in the border regions visited Karnataka to watch the flick.
Thalaivaa has opened up to mixed reviews from critics and audience. But it has not affected the collections in the first weekend.
Thalaivaa has got the second best opening at Bangalore Box office after Kamal Hassan's Vishwaroopam in 2013. But the latest movie could not make the impact like Vijay's earlier movies Thuppakki and Nanban here.
It has to be noted that Thalaivaa could not get maximum screens in Bangalore because of other language biggies.
Thalaivaa faced tough competition from Hindi movie Chennai Express and Kannada movies Tony and Silk Sakkath Hot.
Close To 30 Screens
In spite of increasing the number of screens during the release, there were severe shortage of tickets in Bangalore. Thalaivaa was released in close to 30 screens in the city alone.
Thalaivaa is distributed by Boopal Reddy of Aditi Brunda. He acquired the theatrical rights of Karnataka for a good price.
Thalaivaa is directed by AL Vijay. Vijay, Amala Paul, Sathyaraj and Santhanam are in the key roles. The film is produced by Chandra Prakash Jain.
