Vijay Strikes Gold With Thalaivaa At Karnataka Box Office

Tamil star Vijay has a huge fan following in Bangalore. It was proved once again with his latest movie Thalaivaa getting massive response from audience in the Garden City. The movie was released in Tamil Nadu on Tuesday (August 20), but it hit the screens worldwide on August 9.

His star power has worked big time in Bangalore. As the film was not released in Tamil Nadu, fans of Vijay were forced to come to the city to watch the flick. As a result, the movie has registered a stunning figure at Karnataka Box Office.

In Karnataka, Thalaivaa has earned Rs 5.7 crores (both Tamil and Telugu versions) at Box Office in the first week. The distributor's share is Rs 2.7 crores, says a source. In Bangalore, the Tamil movie had done great business and it is expected to have collected more than Rs 1.5 crore.

In the following weekend, the occupancy for the recently-released Thalaivaa was close to 80% in most of the multiplexes. And the single screens ran into packed house in the second weekend.
