Pulsar
Suni
Granted
Interim
Bail
To
Carry
Out
His
Father's
Funeral
Rites:
A
sessions
court
at
Ernakulam
on
Thursday
granted
short-term
bail
to
Sunil
NS
alias
Pulsar
Suni,
the
main
Accused
in
the
2017
Kerala
actress
assault
case,
to
perform
his
father's
funeral
rites.
The
report
by
Bar
and
Bench
says
that
Sessions
Judge
Honey
M.
Varghese
gave
Suni
permission
to
visit
his
home
today
(March
7,
Friday,)
in
Perumbavoor
between
8
am
and
4
pm.
As
his
father
passed
away
in
the
morning
on
Thursday,
Suni
moved
the
application.
He
was
told
not
to
speak
to
any
witnesses
or
conduct
any
media
interviews,
and
to
only
communicate
with
immediate
family.
In
the
infamous
2017
actress
assault
case,
a
well-known
female
actor
was
kidnapped,
driven
around
in
a
car,
photographed,
and
subjected
to
sexual
abuse,
allegedly
at
the
command
of
film
actor
Dileep.
The
Principal
Sessions
Court
in
Ernakulam
is
currently
hearing
the
case's
trial.
Suni
is
the
prime
accused
in
the
case.
He
allegedly
told
investigating
officers
that
a
well-known
actor
from
the
Malayalam
film
industry,
Dileep,
was
not
only
complicit
in
the
crime
but
also
its
organizer.
The
Kerala
High
Court
first
denied
Suni's
request
for
bail
in
March
2022.
He
then
petitioned
the
Supreme
Court,
which
turned
down
his
request
for
bail
in
July
2022.
Suni
may,
however,
reapply
for
bail
before
the
High
Court
if
the
trial
is
not
finished
in
a
fair
amount
of
time,
according
to
the
Supreme
Court.
He
then
appealed
to
the
High
Court
once
more,
and
on
March
6
it
dismissed
his
bail
request.
Then,
on
March
29,
he
filed
an
appeal
that
is
still
pending
with
the
Supreme
Court.
