This
weekend,
there
will
be
two
big
films
clashing
at
the
box
office,
both
starring
the
Big
M"s
of
the
Malayalam
industry.
The
movies
releasing
this
weekend
will
be
Mammootty's
Pokkiri
Raja
and
Mohanlal's
Oru
Naal
Varum.
Director
Vysakh"s
Pokkiri
Raja
was
originally
supposed
to
hit
theaters
on
the
30th
of
April,
but
due
to
the
unexpected
agitation
of
the
producers
association
postponed
their
plans.
Starring
Mammootty
and
Prithviraj
in
equally
major
roles,
the
film
is
expected
to
top
charts
with
its
action
theme,
hit
songs
and
full-fledged
entertaining
ingredients.
Oru
Naal
Varum,
scripted
by
Sreenivasan,
in
the
meantime,
is
another
satire
on
the
society
of
Kerala.
Mohanlal"s
role
is
that
of
an
ordinary
man
who
attempts
to
construct
his
dream
house
in
the
city
premises,
but
is
torn
down
by
the
intense
corruption
in
the
society.
Sreenivasan
also
plays
a
role
in
the
movie,
that
of
a
corrupted
Assistant
Town
Planning
Officer.
The
duo
will
be
appearing
together
on
screen
after
a
few
years.
The
film
is
directed
by
T
K
Rajeevkumar
and
produced
by
Manianpillai
Raju.
These
won"t
be
the
only
films
releasing
on
May
7th.
Sathyan
Anthikkad's
fiftieth
movie
Katha
Thudarum
will
also
hit
theaters
this
weekend.
The
movie
which
stars
Jayaram,
Asif
Ali
and
Mamtha
Mohandas
is
aimed
at
the
family
audience,
who
are
responsible
for
turning
every
film
of
Sathyan"s
into
a
film.
As
these
films
gear
up
for
a
May
7
release,
the
agitation
by
producers
is
showing
signs
of
ending
soon.
The
state
culture
minister
M
A
Baby
has
personally
taken
the
initiative
to
call
the
aggrieved
parties
around
a
table
to
discuss
and
end
their
problems.
It
doesn"t
seem
likely
that
the
present
core
group
at
the
helm
of
producers
association,
who
are
thick
friends
of
Mohan
Lal
and
Manianpillai
Raju,
will
delay
a
big
movie
from
the
Lal
camp.
