Munnariyippu Enters Chicago South Asian Film Festival

Munnariyippu, the recently released Mammootty starrer movie directed by Venu, got an entry into Chicago South Asian Film Festival. The film festival is to be held on 18th to 21st of September. Munnariyippu is the only Malayalam movie which got selected for the film festival.

Munnariyippu revolves around C K Raghavan, an ex-convict, who continues to live in the jail even after completing the sentence period and Anjali Arackal, an ambitious young journalist, who aspires to make a sensational story out of Raghavan's life. Mammootty plays C K Raghavan and Aparna Gopinath plays Anjali.

The movie is considered as one of the finest thrillers, ever released in Mollywood. Mammootty earned huge critical acclaims for his performance as Raghavan, an ex-convict who carries the baggage of a mysterious past. Venu himself wrote script and handles the cinematography of the movie.

Along with Mammootty and Aparna, Prathap Pothen, Nedumudi Venu, Saiju Kurup, Joy Mathew, Renji Panicker, C V Sreeraman, Sudheesh, Kochu Preman, Parvathi and Muthumani play the pivotal roles. Prithviraj appears in a cameo role in the movie. Munnariyippu is produced by director Ranjith and friends under the banner Gold Coin Motion Pictures.
