Oppam is the Mohanlal starring crime thriller, which is scripted and directed by Priyadarshan. The movie is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
Jayaram is a visually-challenged man, who works as a lift
operator in an apartment in the city. He has a special ability to
sense even the slightest sound, smell, and touch.
One day, he witnesses a murder which happens in
theapartment, but the real killer escapes and Jayaraman gets
arrested on the basis of circumstantial evidences. How he proves
his innocence forms the crux of the story.

Mohanlal, who plays Jayaraman, has delivered a brilliant
performance as the visually-challenged lift operator. The actor
succeeded in presenting the challenging character with perfection,
and it is undoubtedly his best performance in the recent

Priyadarshan, the scriptwriter and director of the film, has
succeeded in his attempt to try a different film genre. The
screenplay, which perfectly weaves the main plot and subplots
together, is the backbone of the film. It is undoubtedly a great
comeback for the hitmaker.
Vimala Raman, the popular actress makes a comeback to Malayalam
cinema after a long hiatus, with Oppam. Even though she
essays the main female lead, the actress has nothing much to do in
her minimal role.
Anusree As ACP Ganga
Anusree, the talented actress is playing the character ACP Ganga
in the movie. But, she isalso sidelined with an
unimportant role, which has no scope to perform.
Baby Meenakshi, the child artist who rose to fame with the
2015-released blockbuster movie Amar Akbar Anthony,
appears as the daughter of Mohanlal's character Jayaraman.
Samuthirakani, who plays the antagonist, has delivered a
power-packed performance. Nedumudi Venu, Mamukoya, Innocent, and
Siddique are at their usual best. Among the rest of the cast, it is
Renji Panicker, Chemban Vinod, and Anjali Aneesh, who make a mark
with their performances.

NK Ekambaram is the director of photography. The DOP has created
a highly effective backdrop for the edge of the seat thriller, with
his brilliant visualisation.

The debutant composers Jim, Biby, Eldhose, and Justine,

score for the movie, deserves a great applause. The fantastic BGM
adds the soul to the movie, which is a real nail-biter.
