Winehouse on $300 a week budget

London (ANI): Troubled singer Amy Winehouse"s mother has taken control over her spending make sure that the singer doesn"t spend money on drugs. A worried Janis Winehouse is ensuring that her daughter spends just 300 pounds a week. In an interview to First magazine, the 52-year-old said that she can no longer recognise her own daughter.

"She's lost herself. We're not talking about my Amy. It's not someone I recognise. She has become her own stage creation," the Daily Mail quoted her, as telling the magazine.

Janis also said that asking the 23-year-old to stop taking drugs is not going to work. "I knew she was smoking marijuana but not that she was doing class A drugs until she collapsed. She won't stop until she sees the point of stopping... when I saw her afterwards, I did not tell her to clean up, there was no point," she said. "I know all about class A drugs. I understand the process where the brain shuts out everything except the drugs. Talking to her about it won't make any difference," she added.
