Soul
singer
Amy
Winehouse's
mortal
remains
were
laid
to
rest
at
a
private
funeral
service
yesterday.
The
singer's
grieving
dad
Mitch
gave
a
moving
eulogy
at
the
funeral,
leaving
everyone
gathered
to
bid
goodbye
to
the
singer
chocked
with
tears.
Mitch
said
that
her
daughter
had
made
fantastic
recovery
and
had
given
up
drugs
three
years
ago.
“She
was
trying
hard
to
deal
with
her
drinking
and
had
just
completed
three
weeks
of
abstinence.
She
said,
'Dad,
I've
had
enough
of
drinking.
I
can't
stand
the
look
on
your
and
the
family's
faces
any
more',"
The
Sun
quoted
him
as
saying.
“She
was
the
happiest
she
has
been
for
years,"
he
added.
And
chocked
in
grieve,
the
60-year-old
cabbie
bid
farewell
to
his
beloved
daughter
saying,
“Goodnight
my
angel,
sleep
tight.
Mummy
and
Daddy
love
you
ever
so
much."
Many
celebrities
like
Kelly
Osbourne,
record
producer
Mark
Ronson
and
rocker
Bryan
Adams
attended
the
funeral
service.
“It
was
a
very
moving
send-off,
very
fitting.
They
(mom
and
dad
of
Amy)
were
kissing
their
girl
goodbye.
They
were
both
very
brave.
They
were
in
floods
of
tears.
Everyone
was,"
a
family
friend
said.
The
27-year-old
multiple
Grammy
Award
winner
died
of
suspected
drug
overdose
on
Saturday
(July
23).
However,
the
exact
cause
of
her
death
is
yet
to
be
known,
as
the
autopsy
failed
to
give
any
result.
Toxicology
tests
will
be
done,
which
will
take
about
four
weeks
to
get
the
result.
