Tamil Nadu government has henceforth made it clear that they will not give tax exemption to Tamil films with provocative titles that do not carry the spirit of the Tamil language. According to the press note from the CMO, Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi was pained by Tamil films with titles like Porukki, Udambu Eppadi Irukku, Polladhavan and Kettavan etc. These films with Tamil titles got entertainment tax benefits but spoiled the image of Tamil language.

Few months before the govt had sent a clear note to Tamil Film Producers Council that a film with provocative will not eligible for tax exemption announced by the CM. Immediately, Sundar C changed the title of his forthcoming film Porukki as Sanda. Jeevan's Bullet also got a change and now it is released with the title Thotta. But young actors like Dhanush and Simbu have firm on their stand and stick on the titles already selected for their films Polladhavan and Kettavan.

According to a director, it is happening just because of action heroes, who are always seeking powerful or provocative titles to attract the audiences. He hopes that hereafter this trend would be changed positively to enjoy the huge monetary benefits that is announced by the CM.

The President of Producer Council Rama Narayanan also sent a circular to all the members of the council regarding the note from the Govt.
