The entire team of Kandhasamy met the press at the venue of Kandhasamy shooting yesterday at MRC Nagar to brief the progress of the movie and their recently made Mexican trip to choose the locations in the country, after a 30 minutes video projection on the same.
"Actually, we planned to shoot the film in the different locations of Kenya, the African country with dense forestry locations. But due to the Civil War conditions in the country, we changed the locations to Mexico. It will be the first Indian film which will be shot in Mexico and the country is four times costlier than India" said Thanu.
"A couple of weeks ago, our team comprising of Vikram, Susi Ganesan, cameraman Ekambaram, art director Thotta Tharani and me made the trip to Mexico to finalise the locations. When we showed the trailer of Kandhasamy, they simply stunned and immediately agreed to give all the support and help for our film to be shot there", added Thanu.
He also said that the Mexican government made Kalaipuli Thanu, the Honorary Council General of Mexico in Chennai!
Further Thanu said: "The way the Mexican Govt treated us was really heart touching. They hosted a grand Mexican dinner with all cultural entertainments including their Salsa dance. Later Vikram joined the dancers and became a perfect co-dancer to them. Most of the Mexican official hailed Vikram that he looked like a Hollywood star. What impressed them more was Vikram's Spanish pronunciation. He just picked up some Spanish words from 'Learn Spanish' book and used the same with timing and won their hearts. The Govt. helped us a lot to find right locations for our shooting. They provided us a helicopter and necessary guidance also."
"The second day, the Govt wanted to make a close bond with us. They wanted to produce a film with the collaboration of V Creations. I will be the co-producer for the film. The hero is none other than our Chiyan Vikram and Susi Ganesan will direct the project after completing the shooting of Kandhasamy," he added.
