The
biography
titled
'AR
Rahman:
The
Spirit
of
Music'
is
written
by
renowned
film
writer
Nasreen
Munni
Kabir
and
published
by
Om
Books
International.
Speaking
at
the
book
launch
event,
AR
Rahman
thanked
his
family,
friends
and
his
mentors,
who
have
helped
him
to
shape
his
career.
The
two
time
Oscar
Award
winner
recalled
his
difficult
times,
when
her
mother
sold
his
sister's
jewellery
to
buy
equipments
for
his
studio.
Mani
Ratnam,
who
introduced
AR
Rahman
to
the
film
industry
with
Roja
in
1991,
said
that
he
is
a
big
fan
of
his
music
and
an
admirer
of
a
human
being
like
the
Mozart
of
Madras.
Writer
Nasreen
Munni
said
that
she
took
eight
years
to
complete
the
biography.
Recalling
her
experience,
she
added
that
they
interacted
in
different
countries
and
thanked
Rahman
for
giving
her
the
opportunity
to
pen
the
book.

Music'
will
give
an
insight
into
Oscar
Award
winner
AR
Rahman's
life.
It
features
some
interesting
facts,
rare
photos
etc.,
of
AR
Rahman.
However,
the
book
launch
event
was
attended
by
Ashutosh
Gowariker,
Javed
Akhtar,
Ramgopal
Varma,
Subhash
Ghai,
Imtiaz
Ali
and
others
celebrities.
