Thuppakki's stunning business at Box Office

Chennai: Thuppakki has got one of the best openings of the year. The film, which was released on November 13, has done remarkable business worldwide.

As per the trade reports, Thuppakki has collected Rs 65.32 crore worldwide in the opening weekend. It has approximately collected Rs 45 crore in Tamil Nadu alone. It has also done an amazing business in the UK, US and Australian Box Office.

In the UK Box Office, Thuppakki has earned Rs 1.18 crores in 25 screens. Whereas, in the US, the Vijay starrer film collected Rs 1.76 crore. However, in Australia, it has raked in Rs 37.99 lakhs in the six-day weekend.

The film was released in 1,000+ screens worldwide for Diwali. On the opening day, Thuppakki earned Rs 9.25 crore, which was one of the highest collections in 2012. It also did brilliant collections in neighbouring states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Kerala.

However, Thuppakki is an action-thriller directed by AR Murugadoss. The movie stars Vijay, Kajal Aggarwal and Vidyut Jamwal in the important roles. The film is produced by Kalaiphuli S Dhanu. It is now being remade in Hindi by Murugadoss himself and Akshay Kumar will reprise Vijay's role.
