KV
Anand's
Ko
is
loosely
inspired
by
Hollywood
movie
State
of
Play.
The
political
thriller
film
revolves
around
a
photojournalist's
life,
who
untangles
a
murder
mystery.
It
is
also
said
that
the
director
has
incorporated
a
few
real
life
incidents,
which
occurred
during
his
career
as
a
photojournalist.
The
cinematographer-turned-director
announced
Ko
in
mid
2009
and
it
was
speculated
that
KV
Anand
approached
Karthi
Sivakumar
to
play
the
lead
role
in
the
film.
Later,
it
was
revealed
that
Silambarasan
was
roped
in
to
the
film.
But
due
to
some
reasons,
they
parted
ways,
hence
the
director
finalized
and
signed
Jeeva
for
the
protagonist
role.
After
considering
several
actresses,
the
makers
of
the
film
zeroed
in
Karthika
and
Piaa
Bajpai
for
the
female
lead
characters.
The
movie
has
been
shot
in
different
parts
of
Tamil
Nadu
like
Madurai,
Rameswaram,
Pondicherry
etc.
It
has
also
been
picturized
in
grim
locales
of
Tanzania,
a
place
which
suits
the
mood
of
the
incidents
portrayed
in
the
film.
Harris
Jayaraj
has
scored
the
music
for
Ko.
It
is
said
that
the
music
director
composed
songs
in
Macau.The
audio
of
the
film
was
launched
on
January
19,
2011
in
Chennai.
Interestingly,
Surya,
Karthi
and
many
noted
celebrities
will
appear
in
a
special
song.
The
movie
has
six
songs,
which
has
already
impressed
the
audience.
Jeeva
is
playing
the
role
of
a
photojournalist
in
the
film.
Ajmal
Ameer
plays
a
corrupted
cop
and
Prakash
Raj
will
be
seen
as
a
politician
in
the
film.
However,
the
movie
is
produced
by
Kumar
and
Jayaraman
on
the
banner
RS
Infotainment.
It
will
hit
the
screens
on
April
15.
