Ileana signs Rajinikanth's Rana!

By Ramchander

Despite delivering a series of flops, Ileana D'Cruz has continued to be the top actress of the South Indian film industries. The highest paid gal of the regional films, who is being overlooked by many Telugu producers after her fallout with Shakti makers, has become a favourite actress in other film industries. After signing Shankar's forthcoming Kollywood film Nanban, she has now reportedly bagged Rajinikanth's multilingual Rana.

There have been reports about Ileana being roped in for one of the female leads in Rana but neither the actress nor the makers of the film have confirmed the news. Later, it was learnt that producer Soundarya Rajinikanth wanted to cast the Goan beauty in her another film Dheera, which was titled before as Sultan. But the actress turned down the offer, as the role did not appeal her.

Now, sources have confirmed that Ileana has been approached by KS Ravikumar for the second lead role in Rana. The filmmaker has made some changes from the original script. Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone is playing the main female lead role. It is believed that both the actresses will share equal footage. However, the director has refused to confirm and claims that they will announce the news about the cast in a few days.

Rana is a historical movie, which is jointly produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth and Eros International. Oscar Award winner AR Rahman will score the music for the film and Rathnavelu will handle the camera. The movie will hit the floors on October 3.
