Team RRR is gearing up for their film's grand release. The period drama based on the life of the two greatest freedom fighters- Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem, played by Tollywood actors Ram Charan and Jr NTR respectively, will hit the marquee on March 25, 2022. The film is trending big time on social media, and the reason is more than evident. SS Rajamouli's film is now in the race to become the highest-grossing opener of India.

As per film analysts, the upcoming entertainer might gross more than Rs 130 Crore on its opening day at the global box office. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, which is also directed by Rajamouli, is currently on the top spot with a gross of Rs 122 Crore. The epic drama featuring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia and Anushka Shetty released in 2017. Well, if Jr NTR-Ram Charan's film manages to surpass Baahubali 2's box office record, it will surely be a huge push for the team and the Telugu film industry as a whole. If that turns out to be the case, it might also become a huge turning point for the revered leading men.

As far as domestic collection is concerned, RRR is expected to earn more than Rs 60 Crore (share) at the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana box office. Notably, Baahubali 2 had garnered Rs 43 Crore (share) with its theatrical run in the Telugu region (opening collection). Interestingly, advance booking of RRR's Hindi version has received an immense response and therefore one can also expect the film to break records of its Bollywood counterparts. Also, let us tell you that no other south biggies are releasing this weekend, and therefore one can expect the unexpected in the days to come.

Bollywood actors Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn are also a part of RRR, that marks Jr NTR's fourth collaboration with Rajamouli after Student No 1 (2001), Simhadri (2003) and Yamadonga (2007). On the other hand, the period drama is Ram Charan's second outing with the director after their 2009 film Magadheera.
