In one interview where Ramya Krishna is promoting her husband Krishna Vamsi's film, she shared an interesting detail and behind-the-scenes story of how she was cast in the film for the important role of Raghavarao's wife

Tollywood's one of the best visionary filmmakers, Creative Director Krishna Vamsi is hitting the silver screen with an emotional family drama Rangamarthanda. The movie, which stars an ensemble cast in the form of legendary Brahmanandam, versatile actor Prakash Raj, and Ramya Krishna in pivotal roles is all set to hit the screens on March 22, on the occasion of Telugu New Year's Day, Ugadi. Rangamarthanda is the Telugu remake of the Marathi film Natasamrat starring Nana Patekar.

Ahead of the film's theatrical release, there is a huge buzz around Rangamarthanda on social media and the internet. The film, which was in production for a long time is much awaited by film buffs who prefer to watch experimental content. Although director Krishna Vamsi is in need of commercial success, he chose to do what his heart says and made Rangamarthanda, which is a purely emotion-driven story of a retired-yet-celebrated stage artist in his olden days.

With a tagline that reads 'Mana Amma-Nannala Katha', the movie charts the journey of drama artist Raghavarao, who is conferred with the highest honour of Rangamarthanda, for his acting capabilities. Raghavarao and Chakrapani are friends in real life, as they have excelled on stage as artists. Their friendship, Raghavarao's relationship with his two children and wife, his struggles with life without drama, etc are depicted beautifully through a story that touches everybody.

Tollywood celebrities and actors who have seen the film's premiere couldn't stop gushing about the impact Rangamarthanda had on them. Their social media handles are raving reviews for the film.

In one interview where Ramya Krishna is promoting her husband Krishna Vamsi's film, she shared an interesting detail and behind-the-scenes story of how she was cast in the film for the important role of Raghavarao's wife.

Ramya Krishna said, "Vamsi had been calling up several actresses that he thought will fit the character. He has this special attention to detail when it comes to casting and for Rangamarthanda, it is important for him to cast the right actors given its weight of emotions." Reportedly, Krishna Vamsi couldn't zero in on any of the actresses that he had thought of, due to budget issues. Talking about the same, Ramya Krishna added, "He spoke over phone calls in front of me saying the money wouldn't work out, the budget will go out of hand, etc. That is when I asked Vamsi if I will play the character. He was skeptical at first but he finally gave in," she laughed.

Meanwhile, in another interview, Krishna Vamsi said that he cried all night after coming home from shooting an important scene featuring Ramya Krishna. "I couldn't do it at first. Tears were rolling down my cheeks as long as I have been shooting for it. We shot for the sequence for 36 hours. I felt emotional."
