5 Must-Watch Movies Of Asif Ali Before 'Kasargold'

2018 is one of the best-survival dramas ever made in Malayalam cinema. Directed by Jude Anthony Joseph, the film featured an ensemble cast that includes Tovino Thomas, Asif Ali, Kunchacko Boban, Aparna Balamurali, Lal, and Vineeth Sreenivasan. Asif plays Nixon, a young man who follows a care-free life and who has a wish to become an actor. He impressed the audience attention with his stunning  performance in the movie. According to reports, '2018' was the first Malayalam movie which earned Rs 200 crore from the global box-office.

It is also considered one of the finest performances of the actor. Asif Ali essayed the role of the police officer in the movie, carrying a straight attitude and pensive looks toward the story. Kuttavum Shikshayum is an action-drama, directed by Rajeev Ravi that follows a similar plot based on true incidents though it digs deep underneath. Apart from Asif Ali, Kuttavum Shikshayum also features actors Sunny Wayne, Alencier, Rajeev, and Shahrafudheen.

Asif Ali's portrayal of Govind in Uyare, a poisonous boyfriend who hurts his sweetheart by splashing acid on her face, clearly marked a turning point in his acting career. It was a challenging effort, and many people would feel awkward seeing Govind on film. But the actor who performed very well on the  big-screen had received several critical appreciation from the audience as well as critic. Helmed by Manu Ashokan, the film starred Asif Ali, Parvathy Thiruvoathu and Tovino Thomas in the lead roles.

The film, directed by Jean Paul Lal hit the theaters in 2017 and opened on 200 screens in India. The movie has collected Rs 1.93 crore with a good occupancy on its opening day in Kerala. According to reports, Honey Bee 2 is Asif Ali's best career opening. In two days, the movie collected Rs 14.35 lakhs from Kochi multiplexes alone. 'Honey Bee 2', is the sequel to the super hit film 'Honey Bee' featuring Actors Bhavana and Asif Ali in the lead roles.

Asif Ali starrer Sunday Holiday, the romantic-comedy movie released in 2017, and directed by Jis Joy. The film, made at a budget of Rs 3 crore and earned Rs 20 crores from the box-office. Sunday Holiday marked the reunion of director Jis Joy and Asif Ali after 'Bicycle Thieves'. National Award winner Aparna Murali appeared in a female lead role in the movie.
