Homebound Story
Homebound is a bollywood drama movie directed by Masaan director Neeraj Ghaywan, featuring Ishaan Khattar and Vishal Jethwa in lead roles. The film also stars an extensive supporting cast, including Janhvi Kapoor, Pankaj Dubey, Shreedhar Dubey, Harshika Parmar, Tushar Phulke, Reem Shaikh, Shalini Vatsa, and many more. The movie is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Somen Mishra, and Adar Poonawalla under Dharma Production.
Story Plot
Based on a true story, the 2025 Indian film Homebound follows two migrant workers, Mohammad Saiyub and Amrit Kumar, whose lives are forever changed during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. The film is adapted from the New York Times article "A Friendship, a Pandemic and a Death Beside the Highway" by Basharat Peer. It portrays their harrowing journey as they struggle to survive while stranded away from home in Surat, Gujarat. Their friendship and hardships highlight the tragic impact of the lockdown on migrant workers.
