Abishan Jeevinth hails from the Ruler area in Trichy, Tamil Nadu. He completed his schooling in a local school in Trichy before moving to Chennai to pursue higher education. He earned his undergraduate degree in B.Sc. Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai. Currently 25 years old, Abishan has no known connections to the film industry, and there is limited public information available about his parents or close friends. Despite having no cinema background, he is carving his own path in the industry.

Abishan Jeevinth recently made headlines by proposing to his longtime partner, Akhila Ilangovan, during a promotional event for his film Tourist Family. In an emotional moment, he thanked Akhila for standing by him through all phases of his journey, and also acknowledged his mother as a major source of strength and inspiration. The proposal, which unfolded in front of a live audience, quickly went viral on social media, earning widespread admiration.

Abishan Jeevinth began his journey in the world of entertainment as a YouTuber, gaining early recognition through his channel Thug Lightu, where he shared relatable content on themes like friendship, exams, and love. His growing interest in visual storytelling gradually transitioned into short filmmaking. In 2019, he made his directorial debut with the short film DOPE, marking his first step into the cinematic space. The following year, he released Nodigal Pirakatha, which became a breakout hit by crossing over 2 million views on YouTube. These early works not only showcased his creative potential but also helped him build a solid fan base among Tamil viewers, laying a strong foundation for his career in cinema.

Abishan Jeevinth's journey to the silver screen was not without its challenges. During his final year of college, a promising project was shelved due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but he remained focused on his passion for filmmaking. His major breakthrough came with Tourist Family, a comedy-drama featuring an ensemble cast including Sasikumar, Simran, Yogi Babu, and M. S. Bhaskar. Drawing inspiration from Kamal Haasan’s classic Thenali, the film revolves around a Tamil family forced to flee Sri Lanka amid an economic crisis. With this project, Abishan successfully made the leap from short films to mainstream cinema, earning praise for his storytelling skills and fresh narrative style. His rise reflects both his resilience and growing promise as a filmmaker in Tamil cinema.
