Bharath Sagar is an Indian actor, model, pharmacist, and farmer, primarily working in Kannada cinema. He made his lead acting debut with the pan-India film Kalave Mosagaara (2025), after appearing in earlier supporting roles. He has also worked in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi films.
Early Life and Background
Bharath Sagar was born in Bhadravathi, located in the Shivamogga district of Karnataka. His father, R.S.M. Joseph, is a former military officer, and his mother, Veena, is a homemaker. His grandfather, Susenathan, was a doctor, and his sisters, Shilpa and Christina, are both in the medical profession. He completed his schooling at Jnana Shyadri School and H. Shivalingappa School, followed by pre-university studies at Lal Bahadur College, Sagara. He earned a Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) from Sarada Vilas College of Pharmacy, Mysuru, and a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) from Mallige College of Pharmacy, Bengaluru. Bharath also received theatre training from the BHARA troupe under Master Sashidhar Barighat and later with the group Thadarupi, mentored by Mounesh Bariga.
Career
Bharath began his acting journey with a supporting role in Aatakkuntu Lekkakkilla (2019), followed by Mayanagari (2023). He made his debut as a lead actor in Kalave Mosagaara, a pan-India film released on 20 June 2025 across over 60 theatres in Karnataka and dubbed into multiple languages. In an interview, Bharath described the film as a gripping blend of romance, action, and psychological drama, calling it “his leap of faith” from modelling to acting. He credited director Sanjay Puranik for his commitment to the project and acknowledged the encouragement he received from actor Vasishta Simha at the trailer launch.
Other Work
In addition to acting, Bharath is a qualified pharmacist (MPharm) and is actively involved in farming and rural entrepreneurship. He also continues his work as a model and performs many of his own stunts in films.
