Biography

Manoj K Jayan is a well-known actor and singer, who works in  Malayalam , Tamil, Telugu and Kannda Film Industries. He is also prominent for his incredible performances in the films like Anathabhadram, Pazhassi Raja, Sargam, Parinayam, Sopanam, Perumthachan and Kaliyachan. He was the three-time State Film Awards Winner for the Best Actor Category for films such as  Pazhassi Raja, Sargam, and  Kaliyachan. Personal Life Born in 1966 in Kottayam, Kerala. He is the son of popular Carnatic Musician  K.G.Jayan . His brother Biju K Jayan is also a musician. He completed his secondary education from Government College, Kottayam. Later he moved to Thiruvananthapuram to pursue acting. In 2000, Manoj K. Jayan was married to Actress, Urvashi. Then the couple got divorced in the year 2008. They have a daughter, Tejalakshmi, who lives with Manoj. The actor then married Asha in the year, 2011. They have a son, Amrit. Career Life Manjo K Jayan started his acting career life during the 1980s. He made his first debut in the film Entea Sonia in 1987. He later acted in movies like Mamalakalkkappurathu, Perumthachan, Marupuram, and Nettippattam. The actor gained a critical appreciation for his incredible performances in the film Sargam, helmed by Hariharan in 1992. The film was super-hit and the actor won the Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor Category for the  same film. By playing unconventional roles, the actor is also a prominent face in Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada Films. He appeared in these industries in 2000. He then acted in the Malayalam films such as Ravanaprabhu,Kaazhcha ,Big B,Pazhassi Raja . The actor, who became surprised his audience with his fascinating acting prowess in the film  Pazhassi Raja. The film was a successful movie in Malayalam and became one of the highest-grossing films of that year. He won the second Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor Category for Pazhassi Raja in the year of 2010. Later, the actor again became a winner of the Kerala State Film Awards for Best Actor Category for Kaliyachan in 2012. After then, he acted in several films like Seniors, Thattathin Marayathu, Neram, Solo, My Story, and many more. Recently he appeared in the crime-thriller film Salute, directed by Rosshan Andrrews. Apart from being an actor, he is also a singer in Malayalam Film Industry. He sang a devotional song for the album Ayyappatheertham in 1993. He then sang on various albums and also recorded for Jayaram's Onnum Mindathea. Awards He has received many awards and honours for his significant contribution to the film industry. He has won three state awards for his films such as Sargam, Pazhassi Raja, and Kaliyachan.
