Priya Anand is an Indian Tamil film actress and model. She appears in Tamil & Telugu films. Priya was born to a half Telugu, half Marathi father Bharadwaj Anand & a Tamil mother Radha. She is the only child of the couple & she was brought up in both Chennai & Hyderabad, so became fluent in Tamil & Telugu. She studied communications & journalism at the University of Alany. Career She had an interest in cinema from her childhood, so she entered into modelling in 2008. She also appeared in television ads for Nutrine Maha Lacto, Prince Jewellery & Cardbury Dairy Milk. She was initially signed for the movie Pugaipadam, but its release was delayed. In the same year, she got a opportunity in the movie 'Vaamanan', which had Jai in the lead role. The movie released in 2009 & it was a musical hit & the movie did an average business. Its songs made her popular among the Tamil audience. In 2010, her long-wait movie "Pugaipadam' released & it didn't do well. Then, she starred in her first Telugu film under AVM Production's Leader with new comers Rana & Richa. After the success of Leader, she acted in another Telugu movie Rama Rama Krishna Krishna.
