Director Shana Feste took a failed attempt to turn pop stars into great actors through the latest offering Country Strong. It only indicates that country singers may sometime turn a good actor but the actors cannot probably make country stars.

Starring Gwyneth Paltrow and country singer Tim McGraw, Country Strong is a disastrous film at the start of the year. Most of the numbers by Paltrow in the film has been reduced to brief snippets and often they got lost by the roar of the crowd or by her band. Her Kelly Canter act was more karaoke than country.


Paltrow as the renowned country singer Kelly Canter is coming out of rehab with the help of her husband James (Tim McGraw). Even though he loves her, he is more in love with her bank account as he also manages her career. A young and upcoming country singer Beau (Garrett Hedlund) takes this opportunity to come closer to Kelly only to benefit his career. She falls for Beau, who uses the opportunity to rise in his career.
