Dumbo Story
Dumbo, a fantasy adventure film by Disney takes us through some high octane scenes. Directed by Tim Burton, this movie is based on 1941 Disney's Dumbo by Otto Englander. Starring Colin Farrell, Michael Keaton, Danny DeVito and Eva Green of `300' fame, this movie released on March 29, 2019, in the USA and garnered mixed reviews.
The story unfolds during World War I, where a circus company ran by Medici brothers plunges into financial crisis. Medici sells all his circus horses and reassigns Holt, a World war amputee as the caretaker of a pregnant elephant Ms Jumbo.
Ms Jumbo gives birth to an unusual calf with large ears. In his debut circus performance, the jumbo accidentally reveals his big ears and the cheering crowd mockingly names it as 'Dumbo' and throws peanuts and other objects at him. Enraged by her son's mistreatment, the jumbo rampages into the ring and causes extensive damage including killing one. To prevent further strain in public relations, Medici sells jumbo. Aftermath, it is also revealed that Dumbo can fly by flapping its wings. Impressed by this, an entrepreneur and owner of an amusement park proposes a collaboration to Medici to work with him. How Dumbo fares in the new dreamland and what it holds in future for Dumbo forms the crux of the story.
