Return to House on Haunted Hill Story

Return to House on Haunted Hill, directed by Víctor García, is the sequel to the 1999 remake of House on Haunted Hill. A few years after the events of the first film, Sara attempts to contact her sister Ariel Wolfe (Amanda Righetti), the editor of a fashion magazine.

However, Ariel doesn't return them and later learns her sister has apparently committed suicide. While at her sister's apartment with her friend and photographer Paul (Tom Riley), Ariel meets Professor Richard Hammer (Steven Pacey) who revealed that while at the Vannacutt Psychiatric Institute, Sarah obtained the medical journal of Dr. Richard B. Vannacutt (Jeffrey Combs) which might reveal the location of the statue of Baphomet which Hammer sought.

Later, Ariel and Paul are kidnapped by a gang of treasure hunters led by Desmond Niles (Erik Palladino), Hammer's former pupil and Sara's murderer, who means to find the statue and sell it to a private collector for five million dollars.

They go to the house, where they meet Richard, his assistant Kyle (Andrew-Lee Potts) and his student Michelle (Cerina Vincent), who is actually with the criminals as they dominate the group.

Suddenly, the house closes all the exits and they find that they're trapped inside with ghosts who are reliving their final tortured moments in the place they died. They all start to die one by one, until Ariel and Paul find the statue and get it out of the house and therefore release the tortured souls.

The final scene, after the credits, takes place on a beach where two people find the statue. At this point the movie ends.
