The Whale Story
The Whale is an American drama directed by Darren Aronofsky, and the screenplay was handled by Samuel D. Hunter. The movie stars Brendan Fraser, Sadie Sink, and Ty Simpkins in the lead roles, along with Hong Chau, Sathya Sridharan, Samantha Morton, and many others in supporting roles.
Matthew Libatique handled the cinematography, and the movie was edited by Andrew Weisblum. Rob Simonsen composed the music for this film. The movie is produced by Darren Aronofsky, Jeremy Dawson, and Ari Handel under the banners of A24 and Protozoa Pictures.
Plot
The Whale tells the tale of an overweight and reclusive English instructor who meets up with his young student, hides away in his apartment, and eats himself to death. For one final opportunity at atonement, he is determined to get in touch with his young daughter. It's the kind of movie you really shouldn't see but should see in order to have an informed, intelligent discussion about it.
Oscar 2023
At the Academy Awards in Los Angeles, Brendan Fraser received the best actor Oscar for the film The Whale. For his role as a reclusive, morbidly obese professor who dominates the entire show, the actor wins an award. Moreover, the makeup and hair design for the film earned one more Oscar for the movie's count.

The Whale was released in theatres on December 9, 2022.
