The Guard movie is about Appu Kuttan Nair (kalabhavn Mani) who is a forest guard and An honest one. The movie is a chronicle of this one man's battle against illicit liquor makers and poachers. He is assisted by two occupants of a nearby Adhivasi colony - a similar friend called Ramu and an elephant called Kalikeshan.
The main message of this movie is to love the jungles and its animal occupants.
