Annaatthe Story
Annaatthe (aka) Annatha is a Tamil action drama movie written and directed by Siruthai Siva. The movie stars Rajinikanth, Keerthi Suresh and Nayantara in the lead roles while Meena and Khushbu Sundar essay supporting roles. The movie produced by Kalanidhi Maran under Sun Pictures. The soundtrack composed by D. Imman. The cinematography and editing handled by Vetri Palanisamy and Ruben respectively.
Story
The story revolves around panchayat president Kaalaiyan (Rajinikanth), fondly addressed as Annaatthe by everyone around him, and his sister Thanga Meenatchi (Keerthi Suresh) . Meenatchi returns to the village after completing her studies in Kolkata. Kaalaiyan decides to arrange a match for Meenatchi. After marriage fate intervenes, the brother and sister are estranged.
Later, Kaalaiyan finds her sister in Kolkata, where he witnesses her in deep trouble. Did he save his sister from the trouble? is the rest of the story to be watched on the big screen.
Release
After Petta and Darbar Rajini's Annaatthe was said to release for Pongal (Jan 2021) but the release was postponed due to the COVID-19 restrictions. Finally, the movie scheduled to release on November 4, 2021 on the eve of Diwali. Sun Pictures also gained acquisition for the non-theatrical rights with the television to Sun TV and streaming rights and Sun NXT belonging to Sun TV Network in all South Indian languages, also tying with Netflix for a wide digital release. The film will be aired on both the digital platforms only after 28 days of its theatrical premiere.
