Charukesi Story
Charukesi is an upcoming Tamil-language musical family drama directed by Suresh Krissna and starring Y. G. Mahendran in the titular role, alongside Suhasini Maniratnam, Sathyaraj, Samuthirakani, Ramya Pandian, and Raj Ayyappa. The film is based on a story by Venkat, with dialogues and lyrics penned by Pa. Vijay. Music is composed by 'Thenisai thendral' Deva , cinematography is handled by Sanjay B. L., and editing is by Richard. Adapted from Y. G. Mahendra's acclaimed stage play of the same name, the film explores the emotional power of music, memory, and family bonds.
Plot
The story follows Charukesi, a celebrated Carnatic musician whose life is transformed after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. As his memories slowly fade, strained relationships, unresolved emotions, and hidden family truths begin to surface. With music serving as his final connection to the world around him, Charukesi and his loved ones embark on an emotional journey of understanding, reconciliation, and healing.
Release Date
Charukesi is scheduled for a theatrical release on June 12, 2026.
