Madha Gaja Raja is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action-comedy film directed by Sundar C and produced by Gemini Film Circuit. The film stars Vishal, Anjali, and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the lead roles, with popular actors Santhanam and Sonu Sood playing crucial supporting characters. Known for its blend of action and humor, Madha Gaja Raja has been highly anticipated by fans due to its unique premise and star-studded cast.

The production of the film began in 2012 and was completed by 2013, but due to financial setbacks, it remained unreleased for over a decade, leaving fans eagerly awaiting its arrival. Despite these challenges, the film is now all set to hit the big screen and is scheduled for release on January 2025, coinciding with the vibrant Pongal festival weekend.

Production:

The film's production journey has been eventful. Initially, Samantha Ruth Prabhu was announced as the lead actress, but she later opted out of the project. Subsequently, Hansika Motwani was approached but could not commit due to scheduling conflicts. Karthika Nair was then roped in to portray Vishal's love interest. At that time, Vishal was rumored to be playing a triple role, a first in his career.

However, the script underwent significant changes, leading to Karthika’s exit. The revised storyline reduced Vishal’s roles to a single character and introduced an additional lead actress. Anjali replaced Karthika, and Tapsee Pannu was approached for the second female lead but eventually dropped out, making way for Varalakshmi Sarathkumar.

The ensemble cast also includes Prakash Raj and Nithin Sathya in supporting roles, while Sonu Sood plays a powerful industrialist aspiring to enter politics. Arya adds a cameo appearance, further elevating the film’s appeal.

Madha Gaja Raja (MGR), starring Vishal and directed by Sundar C., is finally hits the big screens after an 12-year wait. Originally slated for release in 2014, the action-comedy faced multiple setbacks due to financial and distribution issues, leaving fans in anticipation. Madha Gaja Raja (MGR) is slated for a grand theatrical released on 12 January 2025.
