Mapla Singam is a Tamil romantic comedy movie directed by Rajasekhar. The film features Vimal and Anjali in the leading roles, with Soori in a supporting role. Don Ashok has penned the dialogues. N. R. Raghunanthan has scored the music.
Mapla Singam Story
Mapla Singam is set in a semi-rural town where we see Vimal and Anjali belong to the families of different village cohorts that has been clashing with dispute for decades over the petty issues of egos and prestige.
Their siblings fall in love and decide to get married, which turns the situations intensely complicated. Furthermore, Vimal and Anjali fall for each other, but situations impose the threat to their relationships. What happens next is the rest of the story to be watched on big screen.
Production
Escape Artists Motion Pictures announced that they would fund a film to be directed by Rajasekhar, an erstwhile assistant of Ezhil. The film began production in November 2014, with a photo shoot taking place with Vimal, Anjali and Soori.
A Scottish actor Adam Greig was selected to portray a foreigner in the film, featuring in comedy scenes alongside Soori. The movie cleared censor board verification and came out with U certificate.
