Viduthalai Story

Viduthalai (2022) is a Tamil crime thriller movie directed by Vetrimaaran based on the short story 'Thunaivan, written by Jeyamohan. The movie Viduthalai's star cast includes Soori, Vijay Sethupathi, and Gautham Vasudev Menon in the lead roles, along with Bhavani Sre, Prakash Raj, and Chetan.

The film's soundtrack is composed by Ilaiyaraaja, and Viduthalai is the first collaboration for Vetrimaaran and Ilaiyaraaja. The movie story is adapted from the short story 'Thunaivan, written by Jeyamohan. The movie was produced by Elred Kumar under the banner of RS Infotainment.

Story

Vijay Sethupathi's character, Perumal Vathiyar, is an activist who creates a unique force for the people to battle the government. A special unit called "Operation Ghost Hunt" has been established to apprehend him, and cops have set up camp in Vijay Sethupathi's village. Soori, an assistant cop, encounters challenges and humiliations at work, and the plot of the movie is how he overcomes them and attains success. From Vijay Sethupathi and Soori's characters' points of view, the movie's plot is built around a range of themes.

Filming Informations

Bharathiraja was first chosen by the film crew to portray Perumal Vathiyar when they began filming in the Sathyamangalam forest. Later, after Bharathiraja withdrew from the shoot because of his health, discussions were conducted with a number of stars, and the crew ultimately decided to sign Vijay Sethupathi.

Release

On March 31, 2023, the film was finally published after multiple rallies. Throughout Tamil Nadu, Red Giant Movies distributed the movie. The movie Viduthalai's OTT streaming rights have been purchased by Zee 5. Kalaignar Television bought the movie's digital rights.
