Pankit
Thakker
Slams
Priyanka
Chopra:
Since
making
his
television
debut
in
2001
with
Kabhii
Sautan
Kabhii
Sahelii,
alongside
Anita
Hassanandani
and
Urvashi
Dholakia,
Pankit
Thakker
has
come
a
long
way
in
his
career.
He
is
best
known
for
his
role
in
Karan
Singh
Grover's
Dill
Mill
Gayye
and
can
currently
be
seen
in
Dangal
TV's
Janam
Janam
Ka
Saath.
Although
the
actor
is
enjoying
professional
success,
he
recently
made
headlines
for
his
honest
take
on
international
star
Priyanka
Chopra
Jonas'
take
on
pay
parity
in
Bollywood.
The
TV
star
expressed
his
disappointment
and
stated
that
he
doesn't
agree
with
Priyanka's
opinion
and
she
should
be
thankful
for
all
the
opportunities
she
got
in
her
career
so
far.
As
expected,
his
statement
irked
the
actress'
fans
who
trolled
him
on
social
media.
However,
Pankit
Thakker
surely
knows
how
to
not
get
affected
by
trolling
and
has
now
called
out
the
Fashion
star
again.
Yes,
you
read
that
right!
In
an
exclusive
conversation
with
Filmibeat
once
again,
Pankit
opened
up
about
the
reactions
he
got
after
speaking
his
heart
out
and
slammed
Priyanka
again
for
self-representation
of
'brown'
on
the
international
platform.
Talking
about
upsetting
the
actress'
fans,
he
said,
"There
are
a
lot
of
ardent
and
emotional
Priyanka
fans
who've
got
upset
with
my
observations.
However,
there's
an
entire
group
of
intellectual
fans
who
have
understood
where
I
am
coming
from.
Again
I
would
like
to
mention
that
this
whole
pay
parity
comparison
that
Priyanka
has
started
is
baseless.
By
her
comments
what
is
coming
across
is
that
she
has
been
given
pay
parity
by
Americans
and
that
Indians
never
understood
her
worth
which
is
such
a
wrong
way
to
represent
your
country
on
a
global
platform.
She
means
that
the
Indians
are
chauvinists
and
that
Americans
are
more
evolved
than
us
Indians.
However,
I
would
like
to
reinforce
that
pay
parity
is
not
gender-based;
it
is
what
you
bring
to
the
table
as
a
talent."
This
time,
Pankit
also
talked
about
how
he's
irked
with
Priyanka
referring
to
herself
as
'brown'.
Sharing
his
opinion,
he
told
us,
"As
an
Indian
and
also
as
a
member
of
the
same
fraternity,
I
am
hurt
by
being
represented
as
a
brown
person
in
America,
since
this
does
not
accurately
represent
my
heritage
and
identity.
She
is
not
a
native
American;
she
is
an
Indian.
Isn't
using
someone's
skin
color
as
a
way
to
define
or
judge
them
considered
a
form
of
racism?
How
can
she
be
so
disrespectful
or
dismissive,
reducing
a
person
to
their
skin
color
rather
than
represent
her
own
country."
The
actor
added,
"Her
own
costars
like
Shah
Rukh
Khan
and
Salman
Khan
to
name
a
few
have
always
represented
India
on
a
global
platform
promoting
its
growth
and
development
on
a
global
scale;
not
the
skin
color;
as
it
promotes
nationalism
and
pride
in
one's
heritage
and
culture.
She
cleverly
portrays
herself
as
a
victim
in
all
her
interviews
dismissing
all
the
opportunities
she
got
in
the
Hindi
film
industry
and
in
India.
It's
a
shame
that
she
always
gets
away
with
such
remarks.
Can
she
not
make
it
about
the
race
and
embarrass
the
rest
of
us
Indians?
We
don't
like
to
put
our
country
in
the
minority."
