Skanda Story

Skanda is a Telugu high-octane action entertainer movie directed by Boyapati Srinu. The movie stars Ram Pothineni, Sreeleela and Saiee Manjrekar in the main lead roles along with Prince Cecil, Sharath Lohithaswa, Daggubati Raja, Srikanth, Babloo Prithiveeraj, Gauthami, Indraja and many others are seen in supporting roles. The music for the film is composed by Thaman S while the cinematography is done by Santosh Detake and edited by Tammiraju. The movie is being produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen banner.

Story

The daughter of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Rayudu (Ajay Pushkar) was kidnapped by the son of Telangana CM Ranjith Reddy (Sharat Lohitashwa) from her wedding in Telangana. Meanwhile, in the Godavari district, Rudrakanti Bhaskar (Ram Pothineni) falls in love with Sreeleela (Sreeleela), the daughter of Telangana CM Ranjith Reddy. When Sreeleela suddenly disappears, Bhaskar is determined to find her. In his plan, CM Ranjith Reddy's daughter, Sreeleela, and the daughter of the Andhra CM are also kidnapped. Bhaskar kidnaps Sreeleela to get her into CM Ranjith Reddy's house in Rudrarajapura, Andhra Pradesh. Bhaskar makes a deal with CM Ranjith Reddy that he will release Sreeleela if CM Ranjith Reddy agrees to send the Telangana CM's daughter to the Andhra CM's family.

Why does Bhaskar want to trap CM Ranjith Reddy's daughter Sreeleela with love? Why did both CMs kidnap each other's daughters? What is the relationship between Manikantha Raju (Daggubati Raja), the son of CM Manikantha Raju of Andhra Pradesh, and Bhaskar's family? When they kidnap the CM's daughters, what did the CMs do? They asked the CMs to tell Bhaskar's family why they should recommend a marriage alliance. These are the questions that the movie 'Skanda' deals with.

Skanda movie was made on a budget of 40 crores and 10 crores were spent on prints and advertising.

Sakanda movie non-theatrical rights  have been sold for 85 Crores.  Which includes South Satellite & Digital Rights, Hindi satellite rights for ₹35 Cr and audio rights for ₹5 Crores.

OTT and Satellite 

Skanda movie digital rights bagged by Disney+ Hotstar and Star group bought the satellite rights for 54 Cr. Skanda streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from November 2nd, 2023.

Censor and Runtime

Skanda movie censored with U/A certificate and locked its runtime of 167 minutes (2hr and 47m).

Release Date 

Skanda movie was released in theaters on September 28, 2023, across Telugu and dubbed versions in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Originally slated for October 20, 2023, the release was moved up to September 15, 2023, and it got postponed to September 28th to prevent overlap with Tiger Nageswara Rao, Leo, and Ghost releases.

Box-Office 

Skanda movie made a pre-release business of 98 crores before release, and on opening day, it collected 18.2 crores. On its first weekend at the box office, Skanda earned approximately 43.9 crores worldwide.
