Matka Story
Matka is a Telugu period action thriller movie directed by Palsa fame Karuna Kumar . The movie casts Varun Tej, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and Nora Fatehi in the main lead roles. The music was composed by GV Prakash Kumar while the cinematography was done by Priya Seth and it is edited by Karthika Srinvas R. The film is produced by Mohan Cherukuri and Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala under Vyra Entertainments banner.
Story
Matka follows the story of Vasu (Varun Tej), a young refugee from Burma who arrives in Vizag. After getting involved in a local fight, he ends up in jail. Upon release, Vasu teams up with Appal Reddy (Ajay Ghosh) and later joins forces with Nani Babu (Kannada Kishore) to expand his business. Facing political and mafia challenges, Vasu rises to rule over Vizag.
The story explores whether Vasu, who initially works at a coconut shop, can fulfill his ambition of starting a clothing business. A life-changing incident occurs when Vasu travels to Mumbai for the clothing trade. Vasu's romantic relationship with Sujatha (Meenakshi Chaudhary) progresses toward marriage, but complications arise with Sophia (Nora Fatehi). As Vasu confronts his rivalry with KB (John Vijay), he transforms from a small businessman into a notorious "Matka King" who disrupts the nation's economy with illegal gambling.
Inspector Sahu (Naveen Chandra) arrives with the mission to arrest Vasu for running the unlawful gambling empire. Will Sahu succeed in his pursuit, and what ultimate turn will Vasu's life take? The answers to these questions form the thrilling conclusion of Matka.
