Vijayakanth, also known by his stage name Captain, was an Indian actor, producer, and politician who worked predominantly in Tamil cinema. He was the Leader of the Opposition in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly from 2011 to 2016. Before entering politics, Vijayakanth was a successful actor, producer, and director. He was the founder and president of the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam (DMDK) political party and served as a Member of Legislative Assembly twice representing the constituency of Virudhachalam and Rishivandiyam respectively.


Vijayakanth continued to lead the DMDK until his death on December 28, 2023. He was 71 years old.

Bonda Mani was an Indian actor who appeared in Tamil language films. He was born as Kedheswaran in Sri Lanka and came to Tamil Nadu as a refugee in 1983. He began his acting career in 1991 with the film "Pavunu Pavunuthan" and went on to appear in over 270 films.


Mani died on December 23, 2023, at the age of 60. His death was a major loss for the Tamil film industry and for his many fans.

R.S. Shivaji was an Indian actor and assistant director, who was known for his work in Tamil films. He was the son of actor and producer M. R. Santhanam, who worked on films including Ellis R. Dungan's Meera (1945). His brother Santhana Bharathi is also a popular actor and film director, who has worked in Tamil cinema (Kollywood).

S. S. Chakravarthy, also known as Shajahan Chakravarthy, was a prominent figure in Tamil cinema, leaving behind a remarkable legacy as a film producer. Though he sadly passed away on April 29th, 2023


One of Chakravarthy's defining features was his frequent collaborations with popular actors, particularly Ajith Kumar. Their partnership resulted in successful films like "Vaali," "Mugavaree," "Red," "Citizen," and "Varalaru," solidifying Chakravarthy's reputation as a producer who could deliver commercially viable and entertaining projects.
