Delhi 6 To PK: Iconic Bollywood Movies Set in Delhi You Shouldn’t Miss

Delhi-6 (2009), directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, stars Abhishek Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor in a story set in Delhi’s historic Chandni Chowk area (PIN 110006). The film follows Roshan, an NRI who visits India with his grandmother and initially falls in love with the vibrant culture and warmth of Old Delhi, but soon encounters deeper issues like religious tension, caste discrimination, and local politics. As fear spreads about a mysterious “Kala Bandar” (Monkey Man), the film uses it as a metaphor to reflect the hidden fears, prejudice, and negativity within society, blending personal journey with strong social commentary. 

Band Baaja Baaraat (2010) is a popular romantic comedy that marks the debut of Ranveer Singh alongside Anushka Sharma. Set in Delhi, the film follows two ambitious graduates who start a wedding planning business called “Shaadi Mubarak.” Shruti is focused and driven, while Bittoo is carefree and street-smart, and together they navigate the colorful and chaotic world of Delhi weddings. Rockstar (2011), directed by Imtiaz Ali, stars Ranbir Kapoor and Nargis Fakhri in a powerful musical romantic drama set partly in Delhi. With the help of journalist Jaggu, played by Anushka Sharma, PK’s journey becomes both humorous and thought-provoking, offering a deep commentary on society and belief systems.
