Dhurandhar Creates History as India’s First ₹3,000 Crore Franchise; List Of Highest-Grossing Indian Film Franchises

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the Dhurandhar franchise has emerged as a major box office force in Indian cinema. The two-part series, including Dhurandhar: The Revenge, has surpassed the long-standing record of the Baahubali franchise in total collections. While the first installment earned around ₹1,307 crore worldwide, the sequel has grossed over ₹1,727.93 crore as of April 15, taking the franchise’s combined total beyond the ₹3,000 crore mark.

The Baahubali franchise, directed by S. S. Rajamouli, has earned a massive worldwide collection of around ₹2,490–₹2,512 crore, making it one of India’s most iconic film series. A true pioneer of the pan-Indian cinema movement, Baahubali 2: The Conclusion created history by becoming the first Indian film to cross ₹1,000 crore globally. It also continues to hold the record for the highest domestic collection in India, with an impressive gross of approximately ₹1,430 crore.

The Pushpa franchise, led by Allu Arjun, has achieved massive global success with a combined worldwide gross of around ₹2,092 crore as of April 2026. Its sequel, Pushpa 2: The Rule, emerged as a record-breaking blockbuster, collecting approximately ₹1,742 crore worldwide and becoming one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever. 

The YRF Spy Universe, featuring stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Hrithik Roshan, has emerged as one of India’s biggest film franchises, with a cumulative worldwide collection of over ₹3,200 crore. Led by blockbuster hits like Pathaan (2023), which alone crossed ₹1,050 crore globally, the franchise also includes major successes such as Tiger Zinda Hai and War. While most films have performed exceptionally well at the box office, recent entries like War 2 saw comparatively lower returns, yet the franchise continues to dominate as a powerhouse of high-budget action entertainers.

The KGF franchise, led by Yash, has amassed an impressive worldwide collection of around ₹1,450–₹1,500 crore, making it one of India’s biggest film series. KGF: Chapter 1 broke new ground as the first Kannada film to cross ₹100 and ₹200 crore globally, while KGF: Chapter 2 elevated the franchise further by surpassing ₹1,000 crore and ranking among the highest-grossing Indian films. The sequel also set multiple opening day records across languages, with its Hindi version alone contributing over ₹430 crore in India, highlighting its massive pan-India appeal.
