Despite the film being a mixed bag, it does make you curious for what’s to come. If only to see if Fahadh and Allu Arjun get to set the screen on fire.

Pushpa - The Rise is riveting in some segments and bland in others. Allu Arjun shoulders the film, but his coming together with Sukumar should have been for a more absorbing narrative.

With a budget of massive 250cr we get a product of this ,let me get straight here the movie is just another rangasthalam wrapped in a new way . I mean everything was like they were happy with the first take itself they didnt try ta improvise it nor remove some scenes that didnt make sense . The background score was so sloppy with wired cinematography and editing was terrible . Acting wise a very cool movie .In the end Sukumar just played with you guys by making a sequel to Rangasthalam .

From the massy Arya films to the riveting 1 Nenokkadine to the brilliant Rangasthalam, director Sukumar has always pushed the boundaries of commercial Telugu cinema. The winning combo of AlluArjun-Sukumar-DSP brings us Pushpa, a mass entertainer set in the backdrop of sandalwood smuggling. The tone of the film and the neatly written characters work in its favour along with DSPs music. For some reason, he always saves the best for Allu Arjun as the BGM during actions sequences is thunderous. First half of the film is racy despite a plethora of characters, thanks to a tidy packaging but the second half is flat. Once Pushpa rises to the pinnacle of the syndicate, the screenplay abruptly stops as well. Even the much hyped Allu Arjun - Fahad combination sequences are stretched needlessly. Rashmika is perfectly cast in a de-glam look but doesnt have an author backed role. Among the supporting cast, Sunil who dons a new avatar, leaves the best impression. There isnt much in the second half thats not predictable and thats quite unlike Sukumar but hes written Allu Arjuns character flawlessly. On the whole, Pushpa is a definite one time watch for the stylishly shot mass sequences, the earthy look and feel, lead pairs chemistry, music and photography but it doesnt quite rise to the levels Sukumars films did in the past. I hope the sequels runtime is less and screenplay more engaging.
