Dulquer Salmaan to Mathew Thomas: Seven Young Mollywood Actors Who Are Ruling Tamil Cinema

Dulquer Salmaan made his Tamil debut with Vaayai Moodi Pesavum, directed by Balaji Mohan. A romantic comedy by genre, the movie became a hit with the audience. He became a sensation among youngsters after his stellar performance in the romantic movie 'OK Kanmani'. Directed by Mani Ratnam, actress Nithya Menon who played the lead role along with Dulquer Salmaan in the movie. His another notable performance in Tamil including Kannum Kannum Kollaiyadithaal and Hey Sinamika.

After the success of 'Vikram' actor Fahadh Faasil who once again proved himself as a versatile actor through his stellar performance in the latest release 'Maamannan'. His antagonist role in the movie has received critical appreciation from the audience as well as critics. 'Maamannan' is Fahadh Faasil's fourth Tamil film after Vikram, Super Deluxe and Velaikkaran.

The much-awaited movie ‘Ezhu Kadal Ezhu Malai’ marked Nivin Pauly's second debut movie in Tamil. The film is directed by Ram who is popular for his movies Kattradhu Thamizh, Thanga Meengal, Taramani, and Peranbu. Actress Anjali will be seen in the female lead role. Suri is also playing a crucial role in the movie. Talking about the ‘Ezhu Kadal Ezhu Malai’ release date, the film is expected to be released in September this year, the  filmmakers have not announced the official release date.

After winning Kerala State Film Best Award for the movie 'Vaasthavam' in 2006, Prithviraj essayed a lead role in the movie 'Parijatham'. Released in theaters in the same year, the actor who had received much critical appreciation for his outstanding performance in the movie. His performance in Maniratnam's action-adventure drama 'Raavanan' also gained several movie buffs' attention in the industry. His another notable performance including Mozhi, Satham Podathey,  Kannamoochi Yenada, Velli Thirai  Ninaithale Inikkum and Kaaviya Thalaivan.

Kalidas who started his acting career as a child artist in the Malayalam cinema industry and made his debut as a lead actor in the Tamil movie 'Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum'.The actor solified his position as one of the most talented young actors in the industry with his mind-blowing performance in the movies like Natchathiram Nagargiradhu and Paava Kadhaigal. On the work front, Kalidas will be next seen in the upcoming Tamil-Malayalam movie 'Aval Peyar Rajni'.

Cobra directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu, featured actor Chiyan Vikram in the central role, and hit the theaters on August 31, 2022. Apart from Vikram, Cobra also featured  Srinidhi Shetty, Irfan Pathan, Miya, Mirnalini Ravi, KS Ravikumar, and Robo Shankar in prominent roles. The action-thriller drama marked the Mollywood young actor Roshan Mathews's debut in Tamil cinema. Roshan Mathew is one of the youngest -talented actors in Malayalam, who gained more popularity after his stellar performance in the movies like Anandam and Moothon.

If reports are to be believed, Jo & Jo fame Mathew Thomas will be seen playing a key role in Thalapathy's upcoming movie 'Leo'. The film is directed by Lokesh Kanaka Raj and features Thalapathy Vijay, Sanjay Dutt, and Trisha in lead roles. It will release in theaters on October 19.
