Innocent, one of the popular and beloved actors of the Malayalam film industry, passed away on March 26, 2023. Reports indicated that he succumbed to complications arising from COVID-19, coupled with respiratory ailments and multiple organ failure, ultimately leading to heart failure. The veteran actor who had acted in around 700 movies and produced many of them was a comedian and a character actor. Mimicry artist Sudhi Kollam met with a fatal road accident in Kaipamangalam, Thrissur, on August 5, 2023. Sustaining a severe head injury during the incident, Sudhi was rushed to the hospital in Kodungallur, where, despite efforts, he tragically passed away due to his injuries.

Veteran Malayalam actress R Subbalakshmi died on November 30 in Kochi. She was known for playing grandmotherly roles in the movies like Kalyanaraman, Nandanam,  Rapakal,​ Thilakam,​ Pandipada and Rapakal. On the professional, she was last seen in Bollywood actors Sushant Singh Rajput's 'Dil Bachera'.

Siddique, the renowned Malayalam director and screenwriter, known for directing the 2011 film 'Bodyguard,' featuring Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan, tragically passed away following a heart attack on August 7, 2023. Siddique embarked on his journey in Malayalam cinema as an assistant director alongside his friend Lal. Their collaboration commenced under the guidance of veteran filmmaker Fazil in 1983. The actor's final moments were reported to have taken place at a private hospital in Kochi on August 3, 2023. According to reports, the veteran actor had been receiving medical care for non-alcoholic liver cirrhosis for the past few months.

Hailing from Thiruvananthapuram, Raveendran Nair stepped into the world of acting by making his debut in the play ‘Oraal Koodi Kallanayi’, portraying the character of ‘Beerankunju’.

Harish Pengan, known for his roles in movies like Maheshinte Prathikaram and Shefeekkinte Santhosham, passed away at a private hospital on 30 May 2023. As per the reports, the actor breathed his last while undergoing treatment for his liver-related ailments at the hospital.

Renjusha Menon, who worked predominantly in Malayalam films and serials, died at her Trivandrum residence on October 30. According to the report, police initially confirmed that she died by suicide. It was believed that the actress had been struggling financially for a while.

According to reports, the actor passed away due to excessive inhalation of carbon monoxide gas. Vinod Thomas was discovered deceased by the hotel management on November 18. Vinod Thomas is best known for his roles in Ayyappanum Koshiyum, Bhoothakaalam, Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla, and Vashi, he was last seen in the movie Bhagavan Dasante Ramrajyam.
