Young Actors Who Turned Directors In Malayalam Cinema

Prithviraj is one of the talented actors in the industry, who always caught everyone's attention with his astonishing acting skills. After built a successful acting career life, Prithviraj  turned his attention to direction and made the Mohanlal starrer 'Lucifer'. The multli-starrer film was released in theaters in 2019 and emerged as one of the highest grossing movies of the year. As per the latest  reports, now he is awaiting for the release his upcoming movie  L2: Empuraan. It  is the sequel to his directorial debut 'Lucifer'.

After playing supporting and comedian roles in the big-screen, actor Sidhartha Siva who made his directing debut in 2012 through his National award winning movie '101 Chodyangal'. His 2015 release 'Ain' also won a National and State Film Award for best story and feature film category. 

Vineeth Sreenivasan is referred to as a versatile artist in the industry. After success of  'Makantea Achan' Vineeth Sreenivasan who made his debut with Malarvadi Arts Club in 2010. After then he made his second directorial movie 'Thattathin Marayathu' which turned out to be a blockbuster at the box-office.  It also considered as one of the finest movies of Vineeth Sreenivasan's career life. His another block-buster hit films includes Nivin Pauly starrer Jacobinte Swargarajyam and Pranav Mohanlal's Hridayam. 

Actor-director Siddharth Bharathan is familiar face in the industry, is also best known for his hit movies like Chandrettan Evideya and Chathuram. Siddharth is the son of late veteran film maker Bharathan and actress K.P.A.C.Lalitha and made his acting debut in the 2002 blockbuster hit campus film 'Nammal'. Later he took a gap from the industry and made a great comeback to industry with his directorial venture 'Nidra'. In the movie, he appeared in a lead role opposite actress Rima Kallingal.

After donning the role of assistant director for M Mohan's 916, Dhyan Sreenivasan made his directorial debut in 2019 with 'Love Action Drama'. The rom-com drama starred Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara in the lead roles. Dhyan who stepped into the industry as an actor in the film 'Thira ' which was directed by his brother and actor-film maker Vineeth Sreenivasan. 

The National award winner actor, who started his acting career as a child actor in the movie ' Padippura' in 1988 and  made his adult debut in 2002 film 'Pranayamanithooval'. In 2015 he debuted as a film director with 'Ayaal Njanalla' which starred actors Fahadh Faasil and Mridula Varrier in the lead roles.  Tovino Thomas starrer 'Dear Friend'(2021) marked as his second directorial venture.
