Kangna's Queen (7 Days) First Week Collection At Box Office

Bollywood movie Queen, which opened to a lukewarm response, has shown a phenomenal growth in its business. Among the three new releases, the Kangna Ranaut starrer has turned out to be the biggest money spinner at the Indian Box Office in the first week. With its brilliant collection in seven days, the film has topped the domestic chart, pushing Gulaab Gang and Total Siyaapa down to the second and third places respectively.

Released in a limited number of screens in the domestic market on March 7, Queen began on a poor note, but a strong positive word of mouth got it 100% growth in its business on the following days. The movie collected Rs 10 crores nett at the Indian Box Office in the first weekend. Its breakup is Rs 1.75 cr on Fri, Rs 3.50 cr on Sat and Rs 4.75 cr on Sun.

Usually, the business of a movie goes down by minimum of 30-49% on weekdays. Surprising, Queen showed 12% growth in its business on Monday, when compared to its opening day collection. It went on to show further improvements on the following weekdays. On March 12, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "#Queen is going from strength to strength not just in India, but also in international markets. Witnesses massive jump everywhere."

On weekdays, Queen has collected Rs 8.75 crores nett at the Indian Box Office, taking seven-day domestic collection Rs 18.75 crore nett. Its breakup is Rs 2.05 cr on Mon, Rs 2.15 cr on Tue, Rs 2.30 cr on Wed and Rs 2.25 cr on Thu. The movie, which has been made with a shoe-string budget, has recovered its production cost and earned a decent share of profit for its makers in seven days.
