Bollywood Hungama - Taran Adarsh's Rating: 4
EK MAIN AUR EKK TU is a slick, breezy and pleasant fare that should click with its target audience - the youth and also has the potential to woo the older spectators as well. This take on love is refined, smart, lively and thoroughly pleasing thanks to its characters, conversations and the inherent humor. A perfect date movie. A film stuffed with exquisite moments that are sure to bring a wide smile on your face. Simply put, you cannot afford to miss EK MAIN AUR EKK TU. Just go for it!
DNA India - Aniruddha Guha's Rating: 4
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a delightful film that keeps getting better along the way, and ends fabulously. Clocking under two hours, the film is a breezy watch that will leave you with a smile. Highly recommended.
Times of India - Avijit Ghosh's Rating: 4
EMAET is the sweetest heartbreak that Bollywood has conjured in a long, long time. It works both as a college buddy movie and a date movie; for the young and the not-so-young. You can even watch it alone. And if a gorgeous girl asks you for a drink, go ahead, take a chance. As Rahul will tell you, it will be worth every second of your life.
NDTV - Piyali Dasgupta's Rating: 4
Grab your munchies ahead. This one is superbly edited – there are no extra moments in the film and it compares easily to any Hollywood flick, for being a good-looking film.
Mid Day - Shubha-Shetty-Saha's Rating: 3.5
Apart from a sensitive script and solid direction, what also works for this film is the casting. Refreshingly, the film has not fallen over itself to get known stars to play character roles, just to make the film shinier. Instead, it has some unknown gems that not only fit their individual characters perfectly but together make it all a delightful experience.
Koimoi - Komal Nahta's Rating: 3.5
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is an entertaining and enjoyable fare for the city audience. Its business in multiplexes will be decent. Given its total investment of around Rs 35-36 crore and given that it can easily recover around 60-65% of that from satellite, audio and home video, recovery of the balance 35-40% from India and overaseas theatrical business is something which will be accomplished in the first week itself. It will, therefore, prove to be a comfortable earner.
CNN-IBN - Rajeev Masand's Rating: 3.5
'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' is a narrative that unfolds mainly through dialogue, and the lighter moments come at you as the odd couple gets to know each other. The humor hits the mark many times and falls flat occasionally, but the movie doesn't grate because the characters aren't trying too hard to be cute.
India Today - Kaveree Bamzai's Rating: 3.5
Music by Amit Trivedi and lyrics by the bard of the hour, Amitabh Bhattacharyya, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a gentle little film, where even the regulation song with Americans dancing to Bollywood music in the middle of Vegas don't look so bad. Thank you, Imran, you're all grown up. And thank you Kareena for playing Rihanna with a lightbulb inside your head. Her skin is fresh, her eyes glow, her hair tumbles, and she is a good shoulder for Imran to cry on.
Rediff - Sukanya Verma's Rating: 3
Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is told from his perspective but belongs to Kareena Kapoor. After doing ornamental roles in films like Bodyguard and Ra.One, it's nice to see the spunky actress in her element again since Jab We Met. Though vivacious, her Riana isn't a child-woman like Geet but a free-spirited, unflappable adult armed with plucky impulses and scrumptious smile that helps Rahul come-of-age and EMAET worth a helping.
Live Mint - Sanjukta Sharma
Kareena Kapoor is the life of this romcom with a typically Hollywood template and some charming moments.
