Cannes Film Festival 2023: There have been many Indian celebrities who have walked the red carpet of the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Though we are only aware that only big shot movie stars attended the event, there have been many television actors who have represented India at the prestigious platform.

Popular TV actor Helly Shah has been among them. She walked the Cannes red carpet last year, where she unveiled the poster of her first feature film - Kaya Palat. Her look left the fashion police pretty impressed as she exuded confidence on the red carpet.

However, her journey to the platform was met with discrimination from Indian designers. Back then, Helly revealed that many designers from India refused to make outfits for her.

While speaking about how most of the Indian designers refused to give her an outfit for the film festival, Helly told ETimes, Helly shared, "My manager approached a lot of designers when we started planning the Cannes trip. And when the time came, no one agreed to give me their outfits except a few designers."

She added, "That is when we decided to approach international designers. I would have loved to wear Indian designers' outfits at Cannes, that would have been a great feeling. But it didn't turn out that way."

Helly has been part of multiple hot shows like Swaragini and Ishq Mein Marjawan 2, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi, and Khushiyon Kii Gullak Aashi.

Talking about this year's Cannes Film Festival, it is going to take place from May 16 and will close on May 26.
