‘If I'd Gone…’: When Helly Shah Spoke About Not Being Invited To India Pavilion During Her Cannes 2022 Debut

Helly Shah Cannes Film Festival: One of the most popular faces in the television industry, Helly Shah made a smashing debut at the Cannes Film Festival last year in 2022. She attended the international film festival for the poster launch of her debut film, 'Kaya Palat'.

Helly made a statement at the gala event with her stunning appearance and outfit that she wore on the red carpet. Helly looked ethereal in a green-hued embellished gown with a flowy shimmery cape. The deep plunging neckline and thigh-high slit added an oomph factor to Helly's appearance. Her debut appearance was lauded by all quarters.

Sharing her experience of gracing the red carpet, Helly told Pinkvilla, "It was a surreal feeling, and I couldn't soak in the reality, everything was so beautiful and dreamy. It was a new experience for me, where I learned many different things and met many people. I loved the entire experience."

During her interview, Helly also recalled that she wasn't invited to the India Pavilion event. Sharing her thoughts on the same, she said that 'strangely' she wasn't disappointed.

For the uninitiated, Hina Khan was also not invited to the Indian Pavilion event. Reacting to the same, Hina said that she was disheartened.

In reaction to Hina's statement, Helly further added, "Yes, Hina Khan spoke about it. I was also not invited but had I been invited I would have been very very happy and proud to represent my country. Strangely, I was not disappointed."

While Helly said she wasn't disappointed in not being called to the event, she added she would have felt great if she could go.

"This was my first-ever appearance at the Cannes Film Festival and a different experience altogether. I honestly didn't take it that way 'Oh, I was not invited and I am really upset and disappointed' but yes, if I'd gone to the Indian Pavilion on the first day, it would have been a very great feeling," Helly added.
