The 100 years of Indian Cinema Celebration, which is taking place in Chennai was graced by celebrities of South Indian film industry Kannada, Telugu, Tamil and Malayalam. The four days event was inaugurated by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Saturday, September 21.

The Kannada industry was represented by the famous veteran actors like Srinath, B Saroja Devi, Jayanthi, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Jayamala, Shivaram, Umashree and others. The new talents like Roopika, Rishika Singh, Sanjjanna, Amoolya, Soundarya and others gave a dance performance at the event.

It is said that the Kannada audience were disappointed to see the dance performances by the new comers or by the artists who are in the verge of retirement and not by other popular Sandalwood stars. Initially, Kannada stars like Shivaraj Kumar, Puneet Rajkumar, Darshan, Upendra and Duniya Vijay had confirmed their presence in the program. This became a big time disappointment for the audience, who were eagerly waiting to see all the stars together under single roof.

Reportedly, it is said that the top stars of Kannada film industry are expected to attend the valedictory function of 100 years of Indian Cinema Celebration, which will be held today, in Nandan Auditorium, Chennai.
